Next steps after the launch of Every Voice, Every Vote

Last week, over 2,000 people participated in the virtual town hall launch of Every Voice, Every Vote: The Reform Movement’s 2020 Civic Engagement Campaign. If you were not able to be with us live, we invite you to watch the recording in the Tent or on Facebook.

This town hall was a call to action, energizing and inspiring leaders like you to commit to participating in this urgent and deeply Jewish nonpartisan campaign, and help us reach our collective goal of 250,000 voter engagements.

Here are five ways that you can get started in this work and help lead your community into action between now and November:

1. Visit RAC.org/CEC to learn more about the campaign and fill out this form to receive access to resources including toolkits and a digital voter pledge card, campaign updates, and more.
2. Register for an upcoming virtual training or civic engagement call:
   1. Combatting Voter Suppression training on June 3 at 8 p.m. ET
   2. Mobilizing Our Voters training on June 11 at 8 p.m. ET
   3. Student trainings on May 27, June 15 and 29, July 28, and August 23
   4. If you live in Illinois, register for the RAC-IL Civic Engagement Campaign Kickoff
3. Connect with your RAC state project. If you live in CA, FL, IL, NJ, NY, OH, PA, and TX, there will be opportunities for Reform Jewish communities to participate in the national civic engagement campaign through their state project, making change on the local and state levels, including work on ballot measures in some states.
4. Download and use the Empower app to reach out to your friends and family to make sure they are registered and pledge to vote.
5. Phone bank, text bank, or post card bank (virtually or in-person) to reach out to low propensity voters through the Center for Common Ground’s Reclaim Our Voice Campaign. Be sure to mark the Religious Action Center as the answer to ‘How did you find us’.
6. Join the Brit Olam Communities group in the Tent for future campaign updates and to connect with leaders from across the Movement who are involved with civic engagement efforts.

We know that we have more power and impact when we do this work together, and, in partnership across lines of difference. To demonstrate this impact and celebrate our accomplishments as a Movement, we are counting on you to let us know about the civic engagement work your community is engaged in. Between now and November, we invite you to use this reporting form to tell us about your work.

As we proclaimed during the town hall, now is the time for Reform Jews across the U.S. to use our voices and our votes to promote our values and ensure strong leadership at every level of government, so that every voice is heard and every vote counts in November.
