Join us to phone bank hurricane-impacted Floridians and help them vote!

On September 28, one day after Rosh Hashanah, Hurricane Ian, the fifth strongest hurricane to strike the US, made landfall on Florida's southwest coast. This devastating storm left war-zone levels of destruction behind, devastating individuals, families, and communities in its wake.

Due to the devastation and displacement caused by Hurricane Ian’s impact, thousands of people are unable to easily and safely access necessary voting resources for the upcoming election.

A hurricane must not prevent Florida residents from engaging in democracy!

HOW YOU CAN HELP! Join the members of Men of Reform Judaism (South Florida) and Congregation Kol Tikvah virtually on Tuesday, October 25, at 6:00 pm. We will be reaching out to voters in impacted counties to ensure they have the information and resources they need in order to make a new plan to vote in this election. Register and share today.

On Wednesday, November 2, at 6:00 pm, you can call from the comfort of your home or in person voters impacted by Hurricane Ian, so the disaster does not preclude them from voting!

On-site phone banks will be held at Temple Beth Am in Miami or on Zoom with Temple Beth Shalom in Miami Beach. Light food, refreshments, instruction, and support, will be provided. Register and share today.

Thank you for your partnership and support.

RAC-FL Victories

We have been building RAC-FL since 2018 when we organized around the successful passage of Amendment 4, and in 2019 we partnered with immigration justice organizations to close the Homestead child detention center. In 2020 we channeled our energy into Every Voice, Every Vote: The Reform Movement’s Civic Engagement Campaign, through which we mobilized over ten thousand members/voter contacts in our congregations and communities and worked in partnership across lines of difference to mobilize low-propensity voters and combat voter suppression.

Past Events

2020 Launch and Civic Engagement Campaign

RAC-FL officially launched in July 2020, in conjunction with our statewide Civic Engagement Campaign, a part of Every Voice: The Reform Movement’s 2020 Civic Engagement Campaign. Our goals were to ensure that every voice was heard, and every vote counted in this past election and to begin building our RAC-FL base across the state. This campaign focused on:

  • Mobilizing our congregations to become 100% voting communities
  • Combatting voter suppression by mobilizing low propensity voters through phone banking in partnership with the New Florida Majority Education Fund
  • Engaging with County Supervisors of Elections in partnership with All Voting Is Local to ensure full access to the ballot for every eligible voter
