Reform Jewish Movement Launches National Voter Mobilization Campaign Ahead of 2022 Elections

MAY 17, 2022, WASHINGTON – The Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (RAC) today launched its 2022 Every Voice, Every Vote campaign, a nonpartisan initiative to strengthen democracy by encouraging and protecting voter participation. Today, May 17 at 8 p.m. ET, hundreds of Reform Jewish Movement leaders will gather for a campaign launch to learn more about the tools and resources that will help the Movement show up in this critical moment.

“The strength of our democracy rests on the notion that voters pick their leaders -- our leaders do not get to pick their voters,” said Rabbi Jonah Dov Pesner, director of the RAC. “Every issue of importance to our Movement is on the ballot this year, including racial justice and access to abortion. We know the best way to combat white supremacy, antisemitism and attacks on bodily autonomy is by having a diverse, invested electorate. Those who show up as voters will help shape what is possible (and what is a priority) for Congress and state legislatures across the country.”

By providing training and resources to thousands of volunteer leaders across the country, Every Voice, Every Vote will seek to:

• Empower local communities to drive voter mobilization and education
• Remove barriers and obstacles to help enable people and communities to access voting resources and support
• Strengthen our democracy by ensuring the electorate reflects the population that it serves

Working with national and local partners, the Reform Movement will mobilize voters in communities most impacted by voter suppression to ensure that people show up in record numbers as voters committed to a democracy that works for everyone.

Participants in Every Voice, Every Vote will phone bank to increase voter registration and turnout, write postcards and work together with local organizations to show up as partners to create an electorate that represents the full diversity of our communities and the country.
